Editing means working on the style and content of the text, checking the correct use of terms.

Proofreading means reading through the text according to the norms and rules of the language before transferring it to the layout. Proofreading includes: elimination of spelling and punctuation mistakes; correction of semantic deficiencies; checking the accuracy of tables, footnotes, lists, completeness of the bibliographic description, etc.
