A city tour introduces the hero city, its past and present. During the tour, you will learn about the history of the city, its appearance ZX in the chronicles, its foundation and rebirth after numerous wars and fires.
The tour route goes along the main highways and squares of the city. You will visit the station square and see the new modern building of the railway station. Then the route will take you to Independence square – the administrative and political centre. You will learn how the monumental building of the Government House was built manually, without using technology, and what a sad legend underlies the construction of the Red Church. You will drive along the widest Avenue in the city, where the width of the highway is 2 times the height of the surrounding buildings. Minsk Independence Avenue is designed after the example of Nevsky Prospekt in Saint Petersburg and is a striking example of the Stalin Empire style and even claims to be included in the UNESCO world heritage list.
You will see the Zamchishche, the site of the ancient Mensk foundation. You will learn about the chronicle history of the city, try to imagine what the medieval Mensk built in a tree on a peninsula at the confluence of two rivers and surrounded by an earthen shaft looked like. You also will learn about the legend of the hero Menasce and his unusual mill. On Svobody Square, where stone Minsk came from and where it raised its towers and domes to the sky, you will see the restored town hall, Gostiny Dvor, the Cathedral of the Holy Name of Saint Virgin Mary, and shopping malls. You will learn about the main shrine of the Holy Spirit Cathedral – the Minsk icon of the Mother of God and its miraculous appearance to the citizens. You will walk along the quiet streets of the Trinity Suburb and feel the lively appearance of the city of the XIX century. On the Island of tears, you can pay tribute to the memory of international soldiers and make a wish by holding a crying angel by the wing.
Then you will get acquainted with Victory square. The excursion ends with a tour of the National Library of Belarus building, which is made in the form of a diamond, symbolizing human knowledge.
